(1) Only the Center shall have the authority to issue accreditation certificates to organizations conducting conformity testing in accordance with this Act.
(2) In addition to the functions, duties and powers written elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Center shall be as follows:-
(a) Prepare and submit to the committee the necessary guidelines, procedures and standards to make the work of the subject committee effective. (b) To implement, make,
the decisions made by the committee (c) to issue accreditation certificates to conformity testing organizations,
(D) Various subjects. Expert. and- Creating and updating list of examiners,
(e) To conduct capacity building programs regarding accreditation and conformity testing,
(f) Conduct awareness and promotional activities related to accreditation,
(g) To cooperate with relevant regulatory bodies regarding accreditation and conformity testing,
(h) - Representation in national and international level conferences and programs related to accreditation,
(i) To monitor the actions taken by the conformity testing organization,
(h) To enter into an agreement regarding conformity testing and accreditation with other countries, regional or international equivalent organizations with the approval of the Government of Nepal, and
(k) Perform other tasks as determined by the committee.
