Rule 21
Functions, Duties and Rights of the Village Education Committee
The functions, duties and rights of the Village Education Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Encouraging children to study at least up to primary education,
(b) Making and updating details on the basis of age, caste, etc., including children enrolled in school or not. (c) To keep the records related to the educational plan of the school up-to-date and to monitor such plan and send suggestions to the relevant bodies,
(d) Assisting the management committee in identifying and deploying local resources and means and distributing the resources received to the school,
(e) Keeping in mind the families below the poverty line, making necessary arrangements for the children of such families to participate in education,
(f) Coordinating the work of the management committee and providing necessary suggestions and support to the management committee including principals, teachers by supervising and monitoring the school for the qualitative development of education,
(g) Conducting public awareness programs, trainings, conferences, seminars and workshops to increase educational quality in schools,
(h) Studying the physical condition of the school and requesting the Board of Directors for disbursement of funds (i) To prepare a clean educational environment in the school,
(j) Prepare and implement village education plans approved by the village council (k) To keep a record of the educated manpower within the respective village area,
(l) Arranging rewards based on the performance of teachers,
(d) Gathering and mobilizing the necessary resources for the school,
(d) Recommending the establishment of a school after considering the needs of the school, including the mapping of the school (n) To develop and conduct inter-school sports and extra-curricular activities and arrange prizes for the same.
