Rule 49
Points to be awarded for challenging or special duties
: (1) When an armed police officer performs challenging or special duties, a maximum of five points shall be given as follows -
(a) For very challenging or special responsibilities – 5 marks
(b) For medium level challenging or special responsibility – 3.5 marks
(c) For general or challenging assignments – 2 marks
(2) According to sub-rule (1), the marks will be given as per schedule-12.
(3) The following officers should evaluate the challenging or special responsibilities performed by the armed police personnel under them and send them to the secretariat of the relevant promotion committee in a sealed manner within 22nd of October every year:-
(a) In the case of officers from Inspector General of Armed Police to Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police, by the Inspector General of Armed Police on the recommendation of the Head of the concerned Armed Police Office.
(b) In the case of the Senior Deputy Inspector of the Armed Police and lower level Armed Police personnel, on the recommendation of the Head of the concerned Armed Police Office, the concerned Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Police.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (3), in the case of the armed police personnel working as the head of the armed police office, based on the recommendation of the head of the taluk office and in the case of the armed police personnel working in the head office, based on the recommendation of the head of the relevant branch, division or directorate, the Inspector General of the Armed Police It will have to be evaluated.
(5) While calculating the marks for challenging or special responsibilities, the number of years of service required to be a candidate for promotion will be calculated from the average of the last year's challenging or special responsibilities.
(6) Subjects, evaluation methods and criteria to be determined for the purpose of awarding marks in accordance with sub-rule (1) shall be as approved by the Ministry on the recommendation of the Head Office.
