(1) According to Section 9, if a person has been sent to prison for detention, before he is allowed to enter the prison, his body shall be searched by the security personnel assigned for security purposes. When searching in this way, in case of women, the search will have to be done by the female security personnel.
(2) During the search according to sub-section (1), information technology devices such as cameras, mobile phones, SIM cards, personal computers, laptops, iPads or valuables such as cash, gold, silver, jewels, his husband, wife or a family member of Ekasgol should be present immediately. If there is, it should be paid to such person or member and if such person is not immediately available, the prison administrator should keep the details of such item in the register book and keep such item safely in the prison.
(3) If during the search according to sub-section (1) any weapon, ammunition or any item prohibited by the prevailing law is found in his possession, he shall be allowed to enter the prison only after confiscation of such item: and he shall be sent in writing to the relevant agency to take necessary action regarding such item.
(4) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this section, except for the items mentioned in sub-section (2) or (3), the prisoner shall be allowed to keep with him the articles of daily use which may be taken into the prison for the use of the prisoner.
