(1) In case of death of a prisoner, the government doctor shall issue a death certificate stating the cause of his death.
(2) After the death of a prisoner is confirmed by the relevant doctor, the prison administrator shall inform the court in which he was imprisoned according to the judgment or order of the court and the family members or relatives of such deceased as prescribed.
(3) In accordance with sub-section (2), family member or relative or contact: When giving information to a person, it can be given by telephone or electronic means.
(4) If the information cannot be given as per sub-section (2) or (3) or if the foreign prisoner has died, a notice may be published in a national level daily newspaper for the purpose of giving such information. (5) The dead body of a prisoner who died as per sub-section (1) shall be taken over by his family member or relative or contact person within fifteen days from the date of receipt of the information or publication of the information as per sub-section (2), (3) or (4) excluding the time of travel. .
(6) In accordance with sub-section (5), if the dead body of such a prisoner is not taken over by his family members or relatives, or if there is no relative to take over, the prison administrator shall arrange for burial at the government's expense according to tradition.
(7) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this section, the dead body of a prisoner under sub-section (6) may be provided to any educational institution for study and research as prescribed.
