(1) When the Commission provides election symbols to a party for an election held according to the proportional election system, it shall provide the election symbol determined to such a party in accordance with Rule 18. (3) The election officer shall provide the election symbol to the independent candidate from the group of election symbols determined by the commission for independent candidates in accordance with rule 18. The candidate or his representative shall be asked to choose a symbol and it shall be provided at the front desk of the candidate or his representative. However, the fact that the candidate or his representative is not present at the time of providing the election symbol shall not be deemed to be an obstacle to the function of providing the election symbol according to this rule. (5) When choosing the election symbol according to sub-rule (4) If more than one candidate chooses the same election symbol, the election symbol shall be given priority based on the Nepali alphabetical order of the names of such candidates.
