Rule 30
Steering Committee
: (1) According to sub-rule (6) of Rule 29, there will be a steering committee as follows:-
(a) Secretary, Ministry - Chairman
(b) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance - Member (c) Joint Secretary, Applications, Water Resources and - Member Ministry of Irrigation (d) Joint Secretary, Industry, Commerce and - Member Ministry of Supply
(e) Joint Secretary, Agriculture and Livestock - Member Development Ministry (f) Joint Secretary, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (g) Chief, RED Implementation Center -Member
(h) Executive Director, Alternate-Member Energy Promotion Centre (j) Two persons, including at least one woman, appointed by the Ministry from among experts in the field of environment (h) Joint Secretary (Climate Change Management). (2) The term of office of the member designated as per clause (j) of sub-rule (1) shall be two years.
(3) If the performance of the member as per Clause (j) of sub-rule (1) is not satisfactory, the Ministry may remove him/her from the position at any time. But before removing him in that way, he should be given a reasonable opportunity to present his justification.
(4) The steering committee according to sub-rule (1) shall submit its opinions and suggestions to the Ministry regarding the received project design documents. (5) If it is necessary to use documents in the project formulation as per sub-rule (4), the Ministry shall approve such documents and inform the proponent thereof.
