The Government of Nepal shall determine the date of the election. But before setting the date of the election, the government of Nepal should consult the Commission.
(2) In case of dissolution of the provincial assembly according to sub-section (7) of Article 168 of the Constitution, the head of the province shall, on the recommendation of the chief minister, set the date of the election so that the election is completed within six months of the dissolution of the provincial assembly.
(3) If it is not possible to complete the election in one phase on the date mentioned in sub-section (1) or (2), separate dates can also be set to complete the election in two or more phases so that the election starts from that date.
(4) In accordance with this section, the notification of the election date shall be published in the Nepal Gazette.
