Section 24
Arrangements should be made for tuition

(1) The Jail Administrator shall make necessary arrangements for the education of prisoners.
(2) The prison administrator shall make necessary arrangements for basic education, secondary education, open education, technical and vocational education or distance education in case of more than the specified number of inmates.
(3)/ The jail administrator shall make necessary arrangements for alternative education, non-formal education or other similar nature of education for the illiterate prisoner.
(4) The prison administrator may appoint a teacher from among the inmates in the prison for the teaching as per sub-section (3). (5) The teachers designated in accordance with sub-section (4) shall be given the remuneration and facilities as determined for the respective level.
(6) The prison administrator shall arrange for the prisoner to take the higher education examination to participate in such examination.
(7) Jail administrators may conduct programs such as moral education, yoga practice, meditation with the aim of improving the behavior of prisoners or promoting positive thoughts.
(8) The prison administrator shall make available to the prisoner the necessary study materials.
