In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) “Chairman” means the Chairman of the Commission (b) "License holder" means a person or an organized organization who has received a license in accordance with the prevailing law to generate, transmit, distribute or trade electricity.
(c) "Commission" means the Electricity Regulatory Commission established under section 3.
(d) "Consumer" means a person or organization who consumes electricity.
(e) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(f) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Power, Water Resources and Irrigation (G) "Tariff" means the electricity price, duty, fee and other charges to be paid by the consumer to the distribution license holder for consuming electricity service.
(h) “Electricity” means electricity generated from water, mineral oil, coal, gas, solar, wind, nuclear, biological or any other source.
(i) "Secretary" means an employee working as a secretary of the Commission in accordance with section 32.
(j) "Member" means a member of the Commission and the term also refers to the Chairman.
