Section 9
The work, duties and rights of the council
The work, duties and rights of the council will be as follows :-
(a) Prepare and implement necessary policies, plans and programs for the smooth operation of the veterinary business.
(b) Formulate necessary policies, action plans and programs to make animal health services and related systems well-organized, standard, dignified and effective and submit them to the Government of Nepal for implementation.
(c) Submitting to the Government of Nepal to prepare necessary standards for quality of animal medicine, biological material, animal feed, chicks and animal products.
(d) Determining the qualifications of veterinarians and registering the names of veterinarians who have completed the prescribed qualifications and keeping updated records.
(e) Prepare and implement a code of conduct to be followed by registered veterinarians.
(f) To recognize the educational institutions providing veterinary education and the certificates and degrees provided by such institutions as prescribed.
(G) To give necessary advice to the Government of Nepal on matters related to veterinary medicine and animal health.
(h) Be diligent in researching or inventing animal medicine.
(i) To recommend to the Government of Nepal to implement the things that are suitable for Nepal by sharing the researches or experiences related to veterinary medicine achieved in the international field.
(j) If the registered veterinarian does not comply with the code of conduct, the name of such veterinarian shall be removed from the council after completing the prescribed procedures.
(k) To do other tasks necessary to achieve the objectives of the Council.
