(1) The Government of Nepal shall, by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette, determine the standards necessary to minimize or eliminate the impact of any vehicle, device, equipment, industrial establishment, hotel, restaurant or other place or goods or pollution caused by the discharge or emission of hazardous substances from any activity. can do
(2) No one shall do or cause to pollute or do any work contrary to the standards determined by the Government of Nepal in accordance with sub-section (1) in such a way as to have a significant adverse effect on public life, public health and the environment.
(3) No person or group going to the Himalayas or high mountain areas for trekking, sightseeing or any other purpose shall not do or cause any act contrary to the standards determined by the Government of Nepal to pollute and have an adverse effect on the environment.
(4) If any action contrary to sub-section (2) or (3) is found to have an adverse effect on the environment, the department may direct the concerned person, group or organization to adopt pollution reduction or elimination measures; It may prescribe necessary conditions or prohibit any activity that may have an adverse effect on the environment.
(5) If the use of any substance, fuel, tool, device or equipment causes significant adverse effects on the environment or is likely to occur, the department may send a written notice to the Ministry for necessary action.
(6) If written by the department in accordance with sub-section (5), the ministry may prohibit the use of such substances, fuel, tools, devices or equipment, or the production, import, sale, distribution or storage of such materials, after necessary consultation with the concerned agencies or other stakeholders, and the notice of such prohibition It should be published in the Nepal Gazette.
(7) The department shall monitor and evaluate from time to time the compliance of the standards determined in accordance with sub-section (1).
(8) Other arrangements related to pollution control shall be as prescribed.
