Rule 18
Notification to discharge pollution or not to discharge waste

(1) In the course of investigation by the relevant body or when investigating a complaint in accordance with Rule 17, if it is found that any person, organization or industry has not controlled pollution in accordance with the conditions or standards prescribed in accordance with the Act and this regulation, or has discharged waste, the related body shall impose such conditions or conditions on such person, organization or industry. In order to control the pollution according to the standards or not to release the garbage, immediate notification should be given.
(2) In accordance with sub-rule (1), when giving notice to the concerned person, organization or industry, the relevant body may order that any or all of the following work be done immediately:-
(a) matters to be immediately adopted in relation to the control of pollution or the non-discharge of waste,
(b) to use, operate or improve any device or instrument,
(c) not to use or operate any or all equipment used or operated,
(d) to require a report to be submitted to him after adopting a certain monitoring programme,
(e) to adopt various alternative measures to control pollution and avoid discharge of waste,
(f) To develop an environmental management system and inform about it,
(g) To take other actions deemed appropriate regarding the control of pollution and the prohibition of waste disposal.
