The work, duties and rights of the Academic Council shall be as follows:-
(a) To determine and approve the curriculum of the University,
(b) prescribing the type of examination to be conducted under the University,
(c) determining the eligibility and number of students for admission,
(d) Formulating policy on research and sanctioning research programmes,
(e) To evaluate the educational program of the students,
(f) determining standards of teaching and research,
(g) To arrange honorary degrees,
(h) To perform other tasks as specified.
