Rule 39
Promotion Committee
: (1) There will be a promotion committee as follows to recommend for promotion to the following posts in the Armed Police Service:-
(a) For the post of Additional Inspector General of Armed Police:-
(1) Secretary, Ministry – Chairman
(2) Inspector General of Armed Police – Member – Secretary
(b) For the post of Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police and Senior Superintendent of Armed Police:-
(1) Secretary, Ministry – Chairman
(2) Inspector General of Armed Police – Member
(3) Additional Inspector General of Armed Police - Member - Secretary
(c) For the post of Superintendent of Armed Police, Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police and Inspector of Armed Police:-
(1) Inspector General of Armed Police – Chairman
(2) Joint Secretary, Ministry – Member
(3) Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police – Member – Secretary
(d) For the post of Senior Deputy Inspector of Armed Police and Deputy Inspector of Armed Police:-
(1) Additional Inspector General of Armed Police – Chairman
(2) Senior Superintendent of Armed Police – Member
(3) Superintendent of Armed Police – Member – Secretary
(e) For the post of Assistant Inspector of Armed Police:-
(1) Senior Superintendent of Armed Police – Chairman (2) Superintendent of Armed Police – Member
(3) Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police – Member-Secretary
(f) For the post of Senior Constable of Armed Police, Constable of Armed Police and Assistant Constable of Armed Police:-
(1) Superintendent of Armed Police – Chairman (2) Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police – Member
(3) Inspector of Armed Police – Member – Secretary
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in clause (b) of sub-rule (1), if the post of Additional Inspector General of Armed Police is vacant and the member-secretary of the promotion committee cannot be appointed, the promotion committee as per clause (a) of sub-rule (1) shall The promotion committee will also work.
