Subject to specified conditions and restrictions, if any insured postal item or any part thereof is lost or damaged while in transit by post, compensation shall be paid to the sender of the postal item not exceeding the amount insured for. The government of Nepal will be responsible. But under no circumstances should compensation exceed the actual value of the lost or damaged item.
