In this Act unless the subject or context requires otherwise –
(a) "postal item" means a letter, post card, letter-magazine, book, sample packet, parcel and any other thing or item capable of being moved by post.

(b) "post office" It means a post office established by the Government of Nepal to transport postal items from one area to another area within Nepal. ) "Insurance" shall mean insurance against loss or damage in case of shipment by post.

(e) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" shall mean prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
