Rule 123
Pension and gratuity of missing teachers

(1) If a teacher goes missing and is not found dead for two years, the amount of gratuity or pension received by such a teacher shall be given to any member of his family, if he wishes, to such person, and in the event of the death of the person who wishes, or if no one so wishes, to the next of kin of his immediate family. However, while giving such gratuity or pension, it will be given on the basis of the recommendation of the relevant management committee, district administration office and district education officer.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), if the person entitled to receive pension disappears before receiving pension, for seven years and if he disappears after starting to receive pension, for the remaining period of seven years, if he wishes any member of his family, such person and also the death of the person who wishes If there is, or if no one wishes to do so, the family pension will be given to the next of kin, the full amount of the pension, and after that period, half of the lifetime pension to the spouse.
(3) If the missing teacher is found later, if he has not paid the gratuity as per this regulation, the amount of the gratuity or the pension he will get will be given to him from the date he came to claim it. However, the person found later will not be entitled to claim the gratuity, pension or family pension that has been paid.
