Section 14
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Board
: In addition to the functions, duties and powers written elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Board shall be as follows:-
(a) Formulate the policy to be adopted in relation to maintaining fair competition and submit it to the Government of Nepal,
(b) If there is a need to review the law related to competition, review it and make suggestions to the Government of Nepal for necessary reforms,
(c) Raising public awareness regarding the positive effects of fair competition on the economy and the negative effects of anti-fair competition activities,
(d) To give necessary suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the economic situation of the country, business situation, fair competition in the market and the work to be done for the enhancement of consumer welfare,
(e) To identify the problems seen for the enhancement of fair competition in the market and to give suggestions to the relevant bodies to solve such problems,
(f) Collaborating with the private sector to promote fair competition in the market,
(G) Conducting and conducting necessary studies and research related to promoting fair competition in the market (h) Make and implement an action plan regarding the promotion of fair competition (i) Conducting inspection, monitoring and investigation regarding the conduct of actions contrary to fair competition, (j) In the course of inspection, monitoring and investigation according to Clause (j), if it is found that someone is about to take action contrary to fair competition, to stop such work immediately,
(k) To form committees as necessary in relation to the work to be done (l) Doing other necessary work related to maintaining fair competition.
