Rule 20
Designating a polling station

(1) When the Commission designates a polling station in accordance with sub-section (1) of section 34 of the Act, the number of voters, facilities and security conditions should also be taken into account and the Commission shall designate a public place in such a way that it is accessible to all voters. (2) When a polling station is designated in accordance with sub-rule (1) At least one polling station shall be designated in each ward of the municipality. (3) The election officer shall publish the list of polling stations designated in accordance with sub-rule (1) in his office. It should also be clearly stated which polling station the voters will be allowed to vote in. (5) If the number of voters voting in a polling station exceeds the number specified by the Commission or if another separate polling station has to be designated due to some other special circumstances, after taking the approval of the Commission. The Election Officer may designate a separate polling station. (6) Other grounds to be adopted while designating a polling station from the point of view of security and convenience shall be as determined by the Commission.
