(1) The Election Officer shall verify the ballots provided by the Commission. While collecting the ballot paper, it should be ascertained that the ballot papers are not printed in the format prescribed by the Commission and that the election symbols determined by the Commission for the parties and candidates and the serial number on the bottom of the ballot paper are not clearly mentioned in each ballot paper. If it is found that the ballot paper is not in the format specified by the commission, the election symbol of a party or candidate is missing, duplicated, the serial number is not mentioned in the half of the ballot paper or there is any other technical error, the election officer shall separate such ballot paper and keep it. The Election Officer shall immediately provide the information regarding the details of the ballot papers so separated to the Commission.
