Section 30
Jurisdiction to file suit
: According to this Act, if a party wants to prosecute a suit, he can file a suit in any of the following courts having jurisdiction according to the prevailing law of the respective country:-
(a) the court of the place where the defendant resides or has his principal place of business,
(b) The court of the place where the multimodal transport contract is concluded, but in order to maintain jurisdiction in the place according to this section, there must be a business center, branch or official representative of the defendant in that place and the multimodal transport contract has been completed through it.
(c) the court of the place where the goods are delivered or delivered under the multimodal transport contract, or (d) If the parties have mentioned a separate place in relation to filing the case according to the multimodal shipping contract, then the court of that place.
