Section 29
Transportation of Passengers

(1) A passenger can transport a passenger group by train by registering the passenger group with the board and paying the transportation fee as mentioned in the fare and fee (tariff) book.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the passenger shall be entitled to take the exempted goods with him as a passenger without paying the carriage charge as prescribed.
(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-sections (1) and (2), the following items shall not be carried as passenger baggage:-
(a) Goods or articles prohibited under applicable law for carriage,
(b) goods or articles determined by the Board to be dangerous for carriage by railway as passenger baggage,
(c) Goods or articles exceeding the size and weight prescribed by the Board,
(d) Goods or goods prohibited from being transported by the relevant authorities due to non-payment of customs duty due to customs duty in accordance with prevailing laws, and (e) animals or other goods as specified.
(4) In accordance with sub-section (1), a registration receipt shall be issued in the format determined by the Board while registering the Yatri Gunta.
(5) The registration receipt issued in accordance with sub-section (4) shall mention the following:-
(a) Number of passengers and their weight,
(b) Date and time of taking charge of the passenger car for carriage,
(c) the place or station from which the passenger train starts and ends,
(d) Date fixed for submission of Yatri Gunta, Rs (e) Shipping: and other necessary matters relating to charges.
(6) If a passenger is found to have concealed and transported any article or animal under clause (a), (b) or (e) of sub-section (3) by train, the railway staff shall immediately bring such passenger and article or animal down to the next station as per clause ( Transportation of such goods as per a) or (b). The passenger shall be handed over to the concerned authorized officer for action in accordance with the prevailing law.
