(1) The cost estimates prepared in accordance with rules 10, 11 and 13 shall be approved by the following authorities:- a) Cost estimates up to one million rupees from gazetted third-class office heads, 0 (b) Cost estimates up to five million rupees from gazetted second-class office heads, 5 (c) Cost estimates up to ten crore rupees from gazetted first class office head. Shugh) Cost estimate of more than ten million rupees from the head of the department.
(2) The cost estimate prepared as per Rule 12 shall be approved by the following authority:-
(a) Estimates of cost up to ten lakh rupees from Head of Gazetted Third Class Office,
(b) Cost estimates up to rupees twenty five lakhs from gazetted second class office head,
(c) Cost up to Rupees Fifty Lakh _ Estimate from Gazetted First Class Office Head,
(d) Cost estimate of any amount more than fifty lakh rupees from the head of the department.
(3) The head of the public body himself may estimate the cost in accordance with this rule or rule 5A. If the following details cannot be approved, it will have to be approved by an officer one level above.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this rule, the secretary or administrative head of a constitutional organ or body, ministry, secretariat and other offices of a similar nature may approve the cost estimate of any amount of the purchase made for his office.
