Section 22
Work, Duties and Rights of Environmental Inspector

(1) The work, duties and rights of the environment inspector shall be as follows:-
(a) inspecting whether or not hazardous substances have been discharged or polluted in contravention of this Act or the rules made under this Act,
(b) To inspect whether pollution abatement, removal or control has been done in accordance with this Act or the rules made under this Act,
(c) To carry out on-site investigation and inspection regarding whether the work has been carried out in accordance with the conditions specified in the approved environmental study report during the implementation of the proposal,
(d) To inspect whether or not the matters prohibited under section 13 or 15 have been complied with.
(2) During the inspection according to sub-section (1), the environmental inspector shall, after giving prior notice to the concerned person, organization or proposer, any house, land, building, factory, industry, vehicle, industrial mechanism, tool, machinery, organism, object, record, document or other May inspect, test or examine goods or items.
(3) It shall be the duty of the concerned person, institution or proposer to provide the details or information requested by the environmental inspector in connection with the inspection in accordance with this section.
(4) According to this section, if any person or organization does not allow the inspection, if they do not give the requested details or information, if they give false information, if they create obstacles during the inspection or if they do not cooperate with the inspection, the environmental inspector shall immediately fine such person or organization as follows Will be able to:-
(a) Up to twenty thousand rupees if the inspection is not allowed or if there is opposition in the inspection (b) Up to fifteen thousand rupees if the details or information requested during the inspection are not given or false details are given or if the inspection is not assisted.
(5) The party who is not satisfied with the punishment given by the environmental inspector according to sub-section (4) can file a complaint with the director general of the department within fifteen days from the date of receiving the information about the said punishment.
(6) The environmental inspector shall submit the report of investigation and inspection conducted in accordance with this section to the relevant agencies and departments.
(7) Other work, duties and rights of the environment inspector shall be as prescribed.
