(1) With the aim of maintaining a clean and healthy environment and enhancing and promoting it, the Government of Nepal shall formulate and implement the Environment Protection Plan.
(2) The provincial government and the local level subject to the plan under sub-section (1) may formulate and implement necessary plans for environmental protection.
(3) While formulating the plan according to sub-sections (1) and (2), traditional and local practices related to environmental protection, enhancement, sustainable use and equitable distribution of benefits obtained from the use of environmental resources shall be included in the plan.
(4) Other matters as prescribed shall be included in the plan as per sub-section (1).
