Rule 160
Land in the name of the school should not be sold or mortgaged

(1) Land in the name of the school cannot be sold or mortgaged.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), the land in the name of the school may be sold or mortgaged in the following cases:-
(A1) If there is a loan from the Government of Nepal or a financial institution for a special plan related to the development of the physical infrastructure of a community school, to mortgage the property of the school as approved by the Ministry on the recommendation of the Management Committee and Rule 158 BMOJI Committee for that purpose,
(b) For the development of the physical infrastructure of the institutional school, on the recommendation of the management committee, with the approval of the management of the company or the educational institution, to place a mortgage in any bank or financial institution or to sell the land up to 50 percent.
(3) For the development of physical infrastructure of the school, if more land is to be sold than what is written in sub-rule (2), the institutional school shall take the approval of the Ministry on the recommendation of the management committee and the company director or the guthiyar of the educational group.
