Section 11
Procedure for Acknowledging Receipt of Electronic Records

(1) Sub-section (2) regarding acceptance of receipt of such electronic record in cases where the originator, during or before sending the electronic record, has requested to send a notice or compensation to the recipient of the receipt of the electronic record or there is an agreement between the recipient and the originator to send such notice or compensation, The provisions of (3) and (4) shall apply (2) In the event that there is no agreement between the originator and the recipient that the notification or compensation of receipt of electronic records must be given in a specific format or in a specific manner, such notification or compensation may be given as follows:-
(a) by automated or any other form of communication from the recipient,
(b) by any conduct of the recipient that is sufficient to indicate to the originator that the electronic record has been received.
(3) In the event that the originator states that such electronic record shall be binding on him only after receiving the notice of receipt of such electronic record or compensation from the recipient in relation to an electronic record, the originator of such electronic record shall not be deemed to have sent such electronic record until such notice of receipt of such electronic record or compensation is received from the recipient.
(4) In the event that the originator does not specify that such electronic record shall be binding on him only after receiving the notice of receipt of such electronic record or compensation from the recipient, if there is no time fixed or agreed between the originator or the recipient regarding the notification of receipt of such electronic record or compensation. Within the specified time, the originator must have received the notification or compensation from the recipient of such electronic records. In this way, if the notice of receipt of the electronic record or compensation is not received from the recipient, such electronic record shall not be considered as having been sent by the originator.
(5) Other procedures for accepting receipt of electronic records shall be as prescribed.
