Rule 146
Nomination for Foreign Training
: (1) Selection of armed police personnel for foreign training and seminars will be done on the following basis from among the candidates of the respective ranks who have attained the required qualifications:-
(a) Seniority of the post concerned,
(b) Merit order of the result of the training done in the country,
(c) Requirement of concerned group or sub-group if seats are available for specialist training. (2) If an armed police officer who has fulfilled the criteria for selection according to sub-rule (1) is in command or is unable to participate in such training due to other busyness or other reasons, the armed police officer below him will be selected according to the order of seniority.
(3) When choosing according to sub-rule (1), priority should be given to those who have less opportunity to participate in foreign training or seminar.
(4) Selection of Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police for high level National Defense Course and other officers for training including Staff College or Ganpati Training will be done on the basis of seniority, qualification, age and service.
(5) According to this rule, a committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Additional Inspector General of Armed Police or the Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police to select candidates for foreign training or seminars, and the committee will select suitable candidates based on sub-rule (1) and appoint the Inspector General of Armed Police. (6) For the nomination of the candidates recommended as per sub-rule (5), the Inspector General of Armed Police shall submit them to the Government of Nepal and upon such submission, the candidates nominated by the Government of Nepal shall be sent to foreign training or seminars.
(7) According to sub-rule (6), armed police personnel who have returned after participating in overseas training should be engaged in work related to the training for at least one year.
