The mountaineer party shall, at its own expense, provide personal accident insurance of the prescribed amount to the contact officer, chief, mountain guide, base camp workers and workers going to the height before employing them. However, in the case of local workers, personal accident insurance shall not be compulsory. (2) If the person required to be insured according to sub-section (1) is taken on the way or for any other reason, if such person is employed without being insured, personal accident insurance shall be provided in case of death or injury due to an accident. If so, the amount equal to what he would have received will have to be given to him or his rightful person as compensation by the mountaineer team concerned. The mountain climbing party shall pay compensation as per sub-section (2). Explanation:- For the purpose of this paragraph (a) "accident" means sickness caused by snow or altitude. It refers to the date from the date of completion of work to the date of returning to the same place.
