Rule 19
Arrangements related to personal accident insurance and compensation

(1) Before the mountaineer team leaves for mountain climbing, the contact officer, leader, mountain path guide, altitude worker and base camp worker who will accompany them from the government of Nepal until the end of the mountain climbing expedition. Personal accident insurance should be taken with a recognized insurance company not less than the following amount:-

(a) Fifteen lakh rupees for Liaison Officer,
(b) Fifteen lakhs of rupees each for Sardars, Mountain Guides and Altitude Workers,
(c) Eight lakh rupees for each of the base camp workers.

(2) When the mountaineer party insures the local workers according to sub-rule (1), it shall be reduced to five lakh rupees for each worker.
(3) In accordance with sub-rule (1) or (2) or sub-section (2) or (3) of section 25 of the Act, the responsibility of disbursing the insurance or compensation amount to the concerned person or his rightful person shall be the responsibility of the concerned mountaineer group and the organization arranging the mountaineer.< /p>

(4) According to sub-rule (1) or (2) or sub-section (2) or (3) of section 25 of the Act, if the person receiving insurance or compensation is a minor, the relevant insurance company or mountaineering team shall submit such amount to the Ministry and If such amount is received, the Ministry will make the necessary arrangements for the maintenance of such a minor until he becomes an adult.
(5) The mountaineer party shall take out insurance for each of their liaison officers, leaders, mountain guides, high altitude workers, base camp workers and local workers in case of minor injuries in the accident with an insurance company recognized by the Government of Nepal for medical treatment as follows:-
(a) At least three lakh rupees in case of climbing Himalachuli up to six thousand five hundred meters in height,
(b) At least four lakh rupees in case of climbing Himalachuli with a height of more than six thousand five hundred meters.
