Rule 133
Code of Conduct for Teachers

(1) The teacher shall follow the following code of conduct:-
(a) To go to the place assigned to him and do the assigned work,
(b) Must attend school regularly at scheduled times and must not be absent from school without first obtaining leave permission,
(c) Should not exert or attempt to exert any political or undesirable influence on anyone with the intention of gaining an advantage in matters related to his service,
(d) To publish any article under his real or fictitious name or anonymously, or to give any news to the press, or to broadcast a speech through information media such as radio or television, or to make any public speech, in such a way as to disturb the mutual relations between the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people or the relations with any foreign country. (e) Studying and teaching with the aim of making students worthy citizens should be considered as their main goal,
(f) To encourage obedience, discipline, goodwill, co-operation, virtue, sympathy, patience and truthfulness,
(g) No anti-language, sect and religious feeling should be spread among teachers and students (h) Community school teachers should not work outside the school where they are based without taking the approval of the management committee and the district education officer. (i) Work to bring about emotional unity in the country by awakening national sentiments through schools or educational institutions (j) Demonstrations, strikes, arrests and sieges shall not be held in such a way as to harm the sovereignty and integrity of the country, the peace, security, foreign relations and public dignity of the country and contempt of court or to obstruct the performance of duties prescribed by law of any office or officer.< br> (k) Students should not be subjected to physical or mental torture.
(2) The record of compliance with the code of conduct according to sub-rule (1) shall be kept by the principal in the case of teachers and by the management committee in the case of the principal and if the code of conduct is not complied with, the details thereof shall be sent to the concerned district education office.
