5.1 The work, duties and rights of the Institute shall be as follows:- 5.1.1 Formulating a plan related to water supply and drainage and causing the plan to be implemented, 5.1.2 Conducting study, research and survey related to water source and distribution and drainage, 5.1.3 Determining the route from the water source to the distribution point and mapping it, 5.1.4 Conducting necessary construction work for water supply and drainage work, 5.1.5 To carry out the tasks to be completed according to the agreements between the Government of Nepal and foreign governments or international or foreign organizations regarding water supply and drainage, 5.1.6 To conduct development projects related to water supply and drainage as determined by the Government of Nepal, 5. 1.7 To provide services by providing drinking water or sewerage facilities by charging fees and charges, etc. To control the pollution of drinking water, 5.1.11 To make the necessary repairs and maintenance of the water and sewage pipelines, 5.1.12 If the institute receives information that there is no water in the stream for any reason, to make the necessary repairs and provide services as soon as possible, 5.1.13 The institute shall raise its operating expenses by itself, 5.1.14 Perform other necessary tasks for the fulfillment of the objectives of the institute.
