Rule 143
Punishing Officer
(1) The authority to punish the teacher will be as follows:-
(a) the headmaster who admonishes the teacher or withholds two salary increments and the management committee which withholds more salary increments,
(b) The District Education Officer to advise the Headmaster and stop the increase in salary,
(c) the District Education Officer who stops the promotion,
(d) Removal or dismissal of the director concerned.
(1a) Notwithstanding anything written in clause (b), (c) or (d) of sub-rule (1), the authority to punish teachers and principals of community-run schools in accordance with that clause shall be the management committee.
(2) In accordance with clause (a) of sub-rule (1), the principal or the management committee should give the information to the district education office.
(3) In accordance with sub-rule (1A), the information of the punishment given by the principal or the management committee shall be given to the district education officer and the teacher's library.
