Section 7
Constitution of the Assembly

(1) There will be an assembly as the highest body in the university.
(2) The composition of the Assembly shall be as follows:-
(a) Chancellor – Chairman
(B) Vice-Chancellor – Vice-Chancellor
(c) Vice-Chancellor – Member (d) ………..
(e) Member, National Planning Commission (Looking after Education) – Member
(f) Two members from among the vice-chancellors of other universities (g) Chairman – Member of University Grants Commission (h) Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology – Member
(i) Secretary, Ministry of Finance – Member
(j) Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation - Member (k) Regional Administrator of concerned development area – Member
(l) Vice President of Lumbini Development Fund – Member
(d) Dean – Member (l) Two members from among the Campus Heads (n) One member from among the teachers (p) Representative of the Professors Association – Member
(th) ……..
(D) Ten members from among the renowned scholars of Buddhist philosophy, literature, education and culture including one woman from each development area. (d) Seven members, including at least three women, from among the representatives of nationally and internationally recognized organizations related to Buddhist philosophy. (n) Two members from among the contributors (p) One member from among education lovers and social workers (f) Registrar – Member – Secretary
(3) Other than ex-officio members of the Assembly, the nomination of other members will be done by the Chancellor on the recommendation of the Executive Council.
(4) The term of office of nominated members of the assembly will be three years.
(5) If the position of a nominated member of the assembly becomes vacant due to any reason, another person shall be nominated for the remaining term after completing the procedure as per sub-section (3).
