(1) Section 12D. The Government of Nepal shall publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and designate a coordinating unit for the purpose of arranging the organ removal of the person who has been declared brain dead, keeping the removed organ safe, maintaining the record of the person who needs organ transplant, and distributing the received organ according to the priority order as specified.
(2) Human Organ Transplantation Center, Bhaktapur will act as the coordination unit until the coordination unit is appointed as per sub-section (1).
(3) Section 12D of any hospital or health center. If a person is declared brain dead, the coordination unit must be informed immediately.
(4) If the information as per sub-section (3) is received, the coordination unit shall coordinate with the relevant health institution for organ transplantation.
(5) The relevant hospital or health center that declares brain death shall provide the physical facilities and human resources necessary for organ harvesting to the coordinating unit.
(6) Other functions of the coordination unit shall be as prescribed.
