Section 31A of the Act. According to sub-section (1) of the section, the details of the person holding a public position who does not submit the asset statement within the specified period shall be given to the Commission within thirty-five days by the designated body or officer for the purpose of the said sub-section.
(2) Section 31A of the Act. The person who does not submit the details of assets even within the additional period as per sub-section (2) shall be selected by the agency or officer designated for the purpose of the said sub-section based on the assumption that he is holding illegal assets and the report shall be provided to the Commission within thirty days.
(3) When investigating the abuse of authority by a person holding a public office, the commission may ask the relevant agency or official to obtain the records of the property details or give a reasonable time to submit the property details to him.
(4) According to this rule, the commission may accept the information, property description or investigation report as a complaint or evidence and carry out an investigation according to the prevailing law.
