(1) The teacher who wants to be transferred should submit an application to the District Education Officer for transfer in the format as per schedule-17.
(2) Women and disabled teachers will not be transferred to places where they are generally inadvisable.
(2A) Except in the cases written in sub-section (3) of Section 16J of the Act, teachers who have not completed one year of permanent appointment and teachers who have one year or less remaining before compulsory retirement shall not be transferred from one district to another district.
(2b) If a teacher is transferred, the headmaster must give a letter of resignation to the concerned teacher within twenty one days of the transfer and also inform the concerned school and the district education office.
