Section 12
Formation of cooperative banks
: (1) With the purpose of accepting savings of organizations or associations, providing loans to such organizations or associations, or providing banking services, organizations or associations may establish cooperative banks with the prior approval of Nepal Rastra Bank.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), the National Co-operative Bank in operation at the time of commencement of this Act shall be deemed to have been formed in accordance with this Act.
(3) Other provisions regarding the formation of cooperative banks shall be as prescribed.
