Section 29
Protection of whistleblowers
(1) It shall be the responsibility of the employee of the concerned public body to report the corruption, irregularity and any action that is considered a crime according to the prevailing law, which has happened or is happening or may happen in the public body.
(2) It shall be the duty of the recipient of the information to keep the identity of the informant confidential as per sub-section (1).
(3) Due to giving information according to sub-section (1), such informer shall not be punished or be punished in such a way as to release him from his position or bear any kind of legal liability.
(4) If the informer is punished or harmed in violation of sub-section (3), the informer may file a complaint with the commission to overturn the decision and demand compensation.
(5) If the commission dismisses the whistleblower while investigating the complaint filed under sub-section (4), it may also order to cancel such decision and pay compensation if any loss has been caused to the whistleblower.
