Section 15
Service Commission
(1) An impartial and independent service commission consisting of the following members shall be constituted to recommend the appointment and promotion of teachers and staff of the University:-
(a) Person appointed by the Chancellor – Chairman
(b) Member, Public Service Commission – Member (c) One member from among the professors (2) In accordance with clauses (a) and (c) of sub-section (1), a committee consisting of two members of the assembly under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor will be constituted by the Chancellor to submit recommendations for the appointment of the Chairman and members and on the recommendation of that committee, the Chairman and members will be appointed by the Chancellor.
(3) The term of office of the Chairman and nominated members of the Service Commission shall be three years.
(4) The work, duties and rights and procedures of the Service Commission shall be as prescribed.
(5) The Service Commission shall make academic ability and experience the main basis for the appointment and promotion of teachers and administrative efficiency and experience for the appointment and promotion of employees.
(6) The work, duties, rights and remuneration, facilities and other conditions of service of the chairman and members of the service commission shall be as prescribed.
