(1) The tenure of an unpaid consul shall be 4 years. However, if the concerned ambassador recommends that the unpaid consul has not performed satisfactory work, the government of Nepal can remove such consul at any time even if the period of four years is not completed.
(2) If the ambassador's recommendation is received that an unpaid consul has done commendable work and the Minister agrees with such recommendation, the Government of Nepal may extend the period of such unpaid consul as per need.
