Rule 85
Salary

(1) An employee who is newly appointed to a position that will be paid according to the fixed salary scale, will also receive the allowance if he receives the initial salary and allowance written in that salary scale.
(2) An employee who is promoted to a post in a higher salary scale will get the initial salary specified in that salary scale. But if the salary he is currently getting is equal to or more than the minimum salary of the above salary scale, his salary will be determined as follows:-
(a) If the salary he is currently getting is only equal to the starting salary of the upper salary scale, one salary increase will be added to that salary.
(b) In the event that the salary received in the previous post is more than the starting salary of the promoted post, when setting the salary of the higher post, one salary increment of the higher post will also be given by adding the salary increment until it reaches the current salary.
(3) In case the total service period is maintained for pension by adding a period according to Section 46 or Sub-section (3) of Section 48 of the Act, the amount of salary increase for the period added shall also be included for the purpose of his pension.
