In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise, - (a) "Chairman" shall mean the Chairman of the Commission and the term shall also refer to the Acting Chairman.
(b) "Commission" means the National Dalit Commission under Article 255 of the Constitution.
(d) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(e) "Dalit community" means the community defined by the Government of Nepal on the recommendation of the Commission.
(f) "Member" means a member of the Commission and the term also refers to the Chairman.
(g) "Constitution" means the Constitution of Nepal.
