: In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-
(a) "Tobacco" means cigarettes, bidis, cigars, tobacco, sulfa, cockade, raw tobacco, khaini, gutkha, tobacco or other similar tobacco products made or produced for the purpose of smoking or consumption of tobacco.
(b) "Smoking" means the act of consuming cigarettes, bds, cigars, tobacco, sulfa, cockade, tobacco or other similar substances.
(c) "Intake of tobacco" shall mean the act of putting khaini, gutkha, tobacco or other similar substances in the mouth, injecting or consuming such substances.
(d) "Public place" means the place specified in section 3.
(e) "Manager" means a person authorized to make the final decision regarding the operation of a public place, and in the case of a public vehicle, the term also refers to the driver of such vehicle.
(f) "Manufacturer" means a manufacturer of tobacco products.
(g) "Inspector" means the person designated under section 11.
(h) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Health and Population (i) "Committee" means the Tobacco Products Control and Regulation Committee constituted under Section 18.
(j) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
