Section 2
Definition
In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise,-

(c) "Normal Atmospheric Pressure" means a pressure of 101325 newtons per square meter. Explanation: The force (force) that accelerates a kilogram at the rate of one meter per second is considered newton.
(d) "Commercial measure or weight" means the standard measure and weight used in trade and commerce.
(e) "measuring instrument" means any measuring instrument other than a weighing instrument and this term includes any instrument for measuring or counting length, area, volume or volume.
(f) "weighing instrument" means all kinds of weighing instruments used in weighing work and including two-stage scales and covers used in such scales.
(g) "Sealed package" shall mean any sealed package, vial, cask, tin, jar, box, pot, bag, sack or any other similar packed thing kept for the purpose of sale without any measurement or weighing of the goods contained therein at the time of sale. br> (h) "Stitch" shall mean a stamp affixed by moulding, carving, engraving, tarring or any other means which is as indelible as possible and the term also refers to a stamp certified by an inspector affixed in such a way that it does not easily peel off or/break off on a device not suitable for such stamping.
(i) "check" means the act of checking or testing a measure or weight or a measuring or weighing instrument and this term also includes the act of rechecking.
(j) "Controller" means the Director General of the Department.
(k) "Inspector" shall mean an officer appointed or designated by the Government of Nepal for the purpose of this Act.
(t1) "General Assembly of Measures" means the Conference General de Poids a Measures established under the Convention Du Meter. (2) “International Bureau of Weights and Measures” means the Bureau International de Weights established under the Convention Meter Due;Majors should be remembered.
(T3) "International Organization of Legal Metrology" means the Organization Internationale de Metrologie established under the Convention Institut un Organization Internationale de Metrologie Legal.
(l) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
(d) "Department". That means Nepal Quality and Weights and Measures Department.
