: To improve the quality of education on a competitive basis and to develop a healthy educational structure, it is desirable to establish an Eastern University for the study, teaching and research of art, science, law, management, education, technology and other subjects, mainly for conducting high-level educational institutions from the public. Since, in the 22nd year of the reign of Shri 5th Maharajadhiraj Birendra Bir Bikram Shahdev, Parliament has made this Act.
