Unless the subject or the context otherwise requires, in this Act: (a) “association” or “society” means a cooperative association or society registered pursuant to Section 5. (b) “member” means a person, association, society or other body who has obtained membership by subscribing shares of an association or society in accordance with the Bye-law of such association or society. (c) “board” means the board of directors formed pursuant to the Bye-law of an association or society. (d) “Registrar” means the registrar appointed pursuant to Section 21.
(e) “general meeting” means the general meeting of the concerned association or society. (f) “Bye-law” means the Bye-law of the concerned association or society. (g) “prescribed” or “as prescribed” means prescribed or as prescribed in the Rules framed under this Act.
