Section 6
Mandatory Area Abandonment
: (1) By the end of the preliminary exploration period, the contractor shall abandon at least fifty (50) percent of the initial contract area excluding the production area.
(2) The contractor shall abandon at least twenty-five (25) percent of the initial contract area excluding the production area by the end of the first additional exploration period.
(3) Subject to clause 5, the contractor shall abandon all remaining areas of the initial contract area not falling within the production area by the end of the exploration period.
