Rule 78
Impaired Instinct
(1) If a police officer is physically or mentally unable to perform service due to an accident or injury in the course of government work, such police officer shall be entitled to a permanent disability for the purpose of his livelihood, including a pension as written in sub-rule (2). (3) will get the disabled allowance as written. Explanation: For the purposes of this sub-rule, mentally disabled means a police officer who has been recommended by a medical board constituted by the Government of Nepal as physically or mentally disabled and unable to serve.
(2) According to sub-rule (1), if the service period of a disabled police employee has reached the period for receiving pension, he/she shall immediately be compensated with the salary received, sub-rule of rule 75
The disabled pension equal to the amount calculated according to (1) will be received. If the service period of such a disabled police officer is less than the period for which he is eligible for pension, the remaining amount will be deducted from the pension for every full or half year before reaching the year of pension as per this regulation. While deducting in this way, more than one third of the amount will not be deducted.
(3) In addition to the disability pension received by the police personnel due to disability in accordance with sub-rule (2), the amount of monthly disability allowance that they will receive will be equal to twenty percent of the salary they have earned.
(4) In accordance with sub-rule (1), the concerned police personnel shall receive the full amount of the expenses incurred for the treatment of injuries and such treatment expenses shall not be deducted from the treatment expenses received in accordance with this regulation.
(5) If the death of a police officer receiving disability benefits under this rule does not reach seven years from the date of commencement of such benefits, a lump sum amount shall be paid as a disability benefit subsidy for the remaining period of seven years as per sub-rule (1) of rule 75 or The person who is determined to get pension will be entitled to receive it.
(6) When there is an increase in the salary of an existing Nepal Police employee, the same percentage increase in the starting amount of the salary of a police employee of the same level will also increase in the amount of the disabled employee as per sub-rule (1).
